Never watch a movie with half the student population of Singapore in the same theatre as you.

Went with Joy, Kimboon, Isabelle, Neha and Shawn to cine to watch The Village after National Day celebrations. We were joined by lots of other people from assorted secondary schools decked out in red and white, also using the second half of the day to crawl up and down Orchard. But that's normal so its ok.

But what's not...

*In theatre*
Opening credits start to roll accompanied by somewhat spooky music
*Joaquin Phoniex's name appears*
Irritating people: *pretend to get scared* ahhhhhhhhh!! *snickers*
Other people: shhhhhhhhhhh....
*Sigourney Weaver*
Idiots: *encouraged by other idiots* Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!
ssssssshhhhhhh......quiet leh....
*Adrian Brody*
WAAAAAH...SO SCARYY!!! AHHHH!!!!! *hehehehe*
*long, collective hiss* ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
*Title: THE VILLAGE flashes on screen*
*screams reach crescendo* AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! *then isolated shrieks* AH! AH! AH!!!
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it goes back and forth, back and forth: the deliberate screamers followed by the very fierce and incensed ssshhhh-ers. After a while it actually merges into this weird cacophony of sounds. Like sssssaaaarrrrhhhhsssshhh. And it comes to an abrupt halt when the movie starts only to reappear during the scary parts though most of the screams now are genuine.

Joy, Isabelle, Shawn and Neha took the aisle seats and sat directly in front of a group of girls whom I learnt after the movie were being irritating by screaming unnecesarily at various points of the movie.
Like, when the main character bumped into a tree.

Girls behind: "ahhhhh!!!!!"
Joy: *at breaking point* Shut up Bitch! ....Oops. Did I say that outloud?

Then they actually kept quiet for about 5 minutes before going at it again. Oh well.

A miracle! Went out today for lunch and a movie. Spent only $3.50 cause I exchanged Movie Money for free tickets. Saving appears possible!
