This whole week has more or less fallen into boring routine. I go for lectures in the Sports Com in morning and promptly fall into a deep stupor all the way till 9.10 after which I wake up, rush back to the main school building, up to the drama studio, grab the drama board, poster and table cloth, (and if Melissa/some other kind soul isn't around), kick open the door, rush back down to the canteen trying to avoid decapitating anyone with the easel, find a free table in the canteen, set up the booth, haphazardly throw the cloth over the table and start frantically looking around for tickets/forms as the crowd starts to mill in. *whoosh*

Yep! I'll definitely feel some measure of relief after April 4.

Some thank you's due to certain people.

Been making calls to promote the play for most of this week. Thanks so so much to Mummy Melissa for being such a dear helping me to call up schools though she didn't even have to :D And of course to the people who showed up for ticket duty...thanks! Really appreciate your effort...and Su Yun I admire your drive... :D:D And there's Jithra, thanks for accompanying me at the drama booth when everyone was away selling in the void deck - and I owe you for that sandwich too! And of course I'm really glad you helped bug Malini for me ;)

RGS clerks seem pretty nasty. No one dares call RG back now :\ Someone needs a smile. Or maybe the office just seriously lacks good ventilation.

Recent experience has led me to conclude that, for some strange reason, my teeth have suddenly become an indicator of my health; Aching teeth signal the possible onset of a flu. My molars are starting to hurt already. Uh oh. I think I just caught Ian's bug.

Bad week! >.<

And I really want to know what it is my econs lecturer is smoking. She is seriously so high during lectures nowadays! She was telling us about Exceptional Supply today - giving the example like how despite changes in price might occur, the quantity of say, antiques or the Mona Lisa, will never change. Then she continued in what I assumed was meant to be an ultra spooky/creepy voice: "because the dead can never come back to paint again....*meaningful look*" And me, Michelle and Melissa just stared at each other for a while and started laughing at how ridiculous that sounded. But I admit it does make lesson slightly more lively/entertaining.

We backtracked to Demand this week supposedly for the benefit of 2nd intake - which is ironic because most of the other JCs had already gone up to elasticity while we were starting on Demand and Supply for the first time last term - and are currently languishing somewhere in Supply. Econs is boring. She is rather boring too when she's not making references to dead French painters. I spend lessons trying to place her interesting accent and constantly telling Melissa aout how weird teachers can be.

May have to go back for Model United Nations on saturday. Apparently we're supposed to train our juniors for the RJC Model UN this year which I think is quite silly because I never really learnt enough during my 2 yrs in RMUN to impart anything of use to them except perhaps how to ditch the stockings - which will always run no matter how careful you are - and get away with it during the conference. (Courtesy of Anjali)

Guy Moderator: ...Why are you not wearing any stockings?
*model response* ...Why are you staring at my legs arh??

Yea. It never fails.

And Matt's still nagging me about how I didn't wear my tie last year during the conference! Matt- get over it! You looked nice with the gell anyway! :P

Went over to Joel's house yesterday and just spent the whole afternoon lounging around his room surfing for better ring tones, getting high on chocolate and working our way through his PS2 games.

Still sore over my 3 consecutive defeats by Wakka while playing Kingdom of Hearts. Think I almost destroyed Joel's console after 20 minutes of vigourous button-pressing and violent rotations of the analog stick. Was stopped only after he looked up in alarm from his guitar and went "Mei! Chilll....".

And I'm seriously hooked onto FFX-2 now! I need to buy that game.... @_@ Ian thinks its too girly ("All they do is try on new clothes and slap each other hi fis!")...mm it wasn't that bad...although the whole Charlie's Angels/MTV-style introduction was a bit...strange :/

As the holidays end and April draws nearer I'm sliding again into the kind of desperation I felt on the week of Night of Laughter. Was blatantly promoting Midsummer's Night Dream over MSN this morning, this time to Thomas, who in turn was trying to sell NJ's choir performance to me.

Me: Come for ACSian theatre's latest production! :D:D:D:D:D
Thomas: I know! If I buy tickets for that you can buy my choir tickets - ONLY 15 bucks!
Me: Yea! Drama tickets are ONLY 20 bucks so its a great deal isn't it?
Thomas: HOHO! Great deal! So you can buy TWO 10 dollar tickets and take along your boyfriend!
Me: I'm not paying for the extra ticket! But anyway, come la...you can choose from a wide variety of...eh...dates - 1, 2, 3 and 4 April. There's singing, dancing and acting!
Thomas: Eh....We've got SINGING, singing and MORE singing! :D

Then started to tell Thomas why we decided to stretch the production over 4 days instead of the original 2 - the theatre we wanted to use got flooded in so we had to move to a smaller one which could seat less and as a result, ended up with all these excess tickets. So we extended the performance to include Thursday and Sunday. After which he started quoting econs to me: "Haha! this is when supply exceeds demand! :P "

Thomas!!! >.<

The drama people are coming back from South Africa tomorrow. Time to start making calls again!

Postscript: After today I have concluded that MOE's school posting system is seriously screwed.

Have never felt so bored during the holidays.

Ian's left for some Writing camp in YMCA and won't be back till Thursday. He called back home just now.

Me: Hello?
Ian: Hello.
Me: Mm..What?
Ian: *louder* Hello!!
Me: Yea, what?
Ian: *yelling* Hello!! HELLOOO!!!
Me: *yelling back* WHAT?!
Ian: ...Oh I just called to say hello. And yar, to let you know I'm still alive even though YMCA really is haunted...yar. Bye. *slams down phone*

The house is really quiet now.

:(

Ian! Come back!

The lifts in Cine are extremely slow.

Went there last night with Aaron to watch Haunted Mansion. And apparently S.H.E was performing there too which explained the massive crowd outside and in. Had to wait about 10 minutes before we managed to find a lift in which we could squeeze ourselves into.

On the bright side.

I SAW S.H.E!!!!

Sort of. The lift doors suddenly opened on the 7th floor whereupon we were all temporarily blinded by a dazzling sea of bright flashes and the sight of sweaty, screaming female fans jumping and waving digi-cams around in the air going "HEBE! HEBE!!". And then in a scene akin to the parting of the Red Sea, a narrow path cleared amongst the fans and ...S.H.E passed right in front of all us gaping, tip-toeing people in the elevator! Whoo!!

I SAW S.H.E.!!!!!

Well....The top of their heads at least. I'm too short :P But wth, we all live for cheap thrills. I'm not even a fan. But at least now I can go around saying that...

I SAW S.H.E.!!!!!. And that they have nice dyed hair. XD

On the flip side, I have not rectified my sleep deprivation problem at all. Was on the phone with Joel last night for all of 2 minutes before he shooed me off to bed. I think I really should've listened to him (Kor always knows best) and just toddled off to sleep...but later found myself talking to Kboon over the phone till 2am :|

Naturally woke up today at 12pm feeling crappy. Wandered around the house like a zombie before settling in front of the PC.

And here I am typing this. Whee.

Ticketing ladies are not spared over the holidays - more calls to make to uncooperative schools. Tried calling Bukit Panjang Govt. High yesterday during recess. An extremely pointless conversation ensued. What really irks me is that this is coming out from Drama's very limited hI card money!

Me: Hi, I'm calling from ACJC drama society. May I speak to the drama teacher of the school?
Clerk: Alright...I'll put you through to her. Where are you from again?
Me: ACJC, drama society.
*classical music begins to play*
Clerk: Hello, Bukit Panjang Govt. High. Who is this calling and what is this regarding?
Me: Oh. Well. I'm calling from ACJC drama society and I would like to speak to the drama teacher of the school.
Clerk: What?
Me: ....Is there a drama society in the school?
Clerk: Eh. Hold on.
*classical music begins to play*
Clerk: *confused* Ey....what school is this calling by the way?
Me: *very slowly* Anglo Chinese Junior College.
Clerk: Junior college? *speaks to me even more slowly* But Miss...Bukit panjang....is a secondary school you know.
Me: *with a slight edge* Yes I'm aware of that but we're trying to promote our latest drama production in secondary schools too. Is there a drama society or ELDDS in the school at all?
Clerk: *long pause* No we have nothing like that.
Me: *trying not to hyperventilate* Right, never mind. Thank you. Bye.

Kelly and Michelle tried calling too. I think on the whole its been pretty unsuccessful.

Chung Cheng High Clerk: *to kelly* You listen yar...we have Chinese LDDS, we have Chinese drama society *rattles off a list of cheena societies* ...but we got no ELDDS. OK?

Michelle: Hi may I speak to Mrs -
Clerk: *immediately* She's not in. *hangs up*

Why are Clerks so grumpy? Its not good at all for their health >.<

Calling VS, both Chung Chengs and Crescent over the holidays. Will be doing up th J1 ticket selling schedule too. Wish me luck!

Drama at Mustafa. My mum's in a big fit because a cashier "cheated" her (probably accidently) this afternoon of some money while she was checking out her shopping, after which she proclaimed loudly in the aisle that she'd boycott Mustafa from now on - this follows with Ian and I walking away very quickly and hiding behind the peanut butter shelf.

And the grand total lost:

40 cents.
Spare change.

And over a packet of Samosas. I mean, come on! Life's too short to worry about whether the Samosas cost $2.90 or $2.50. Just eat them and be happy! :D:D

Went for the church tour yesterday at St. Mary's where I played tourist in my own church. Found out that St Mary's is actually home to some of the Poor Clare nuns - they've got their own quarters at the back of the compound away from the main church. The nuns basically lead very cloistered lives and don't really have much contact with anyone else. They've actually got little private gardens in the church where they can hang out and I suppose that helps prevent them from going out of their minds with boredom. I wonder how they do it though? It sounds tough.
We ended the tour in the columbarian. That place is really freaky at night and not just because it houses dead people's ashes. Its built underground and is lit only by tiny candles and they are all these bronze statues of the saints, some of which are life-sized (St Francis looks particularly intimidating after dark). Plus they play opera music in there. Which makes it even worse. Waited there once alone for someone at 7pm and left after I got too creeped out. *shivers* But its quite a nice columbarian. Father John says that the niches aren't aligned in neat, vertical rows but are instead purposely arranged irregularly - just like bricks. Its supposed to symbolize how people (in this case, the ones buried there) sort of form the building blocks and foundation of the church itself. It sounds so much like something we'd say in a lit essay. In fact there's a lot of symbolism in the entire design of the new church. V. interesting. go for the church tour! :D

I used Ian's handphone last night to chat with someone - his phone is seriously under utilized! 200 minutes free talk time and he's not taking advantage of it at all...and I think the only sms he's sent ever since he got his phone was the one to me which said "I TOLD YOU SO" after I said he couldn't msg properly.

Yea but apparently, he's quite pissed off because I used his phone instead of mine (have a feeling my bill is going to hit the roof this month) and also because I didn't charge his phone after using it or something. So now whenever I talk to him he'll snap "Don't waste my talk time!" and give me a nasty look.

Ah well.

Hm. Blogging's not fun anymore. Suddenly find I have nothing to blog about. Hmmm...I must lead a very boring life :/

And the teachers have found our blogs. I don't know how. Hyperlinking is evil.
