AHH!!!!! Morgan won the immunity challenge....FOR ONCE!!
I love supporting the underdogs. Its so worth it when they finally win something :D
Went out with Justina to Cine after classes today. I haven't been there since I went bowling with Zhiheng, Felicia and Matt months ago before the exams. I mistook it for Heeren! And I kept asking Jus why we had to cross the road to go to Annex instead of just taking the escalator up! *argh* I need to get out more.
We went to NYDC to celebrate the Jeanne-Ann birthday party yesterday. Got delayed because Dorai came to give us a pep talk in class about the Prelims which lasted till 2.30. Ann had to catch a cab to NUS by 5.30 or risk being stranded in Singapore so we were rushing for time. Pea and Gwen chose to make a quick dash across the road to the bus stop while the rest of us stayed behind rather than become roadkill. The button on the traffic light on our side of the road was jammed so we yelled at Sylvia to press the one on her side because if you don't do anything, it can take about 10 minutes for the stupid light to change.
Me: *yelling across the street* PRESS THE BUTTON! *violent jabbing motion with finger*
Sylvia: ????? *looks toward direction I'm jabbing in* THE BUS ISN'T HERE YET WHAT???
Anjali: PRESS! THE! BUTTON! *violent jabbing motion with finger*
Sylvia: *searching deparately for that imaginary bus* THE! BUS! ISN'T! HERE! YET! TAKE! YOUR! TIME!
Me and Anjali: *together* PRESS THE BUTTON!!!!!
Pea: OH! BUT WHY -?
Ann: *snaps* SYLVIA JUST PRESS THE DAMN THING LA!
Pea: *immediately goes to press it looking disgruntled* WHY CAN'T YOU PRESS IT?
Anjali: ITS SPOILT!
Pea: HOW DO YOU KNOW?
All of us: *screaming together* ITS STUCK!!!!!
Hung around Borders for a while before we went up to eat. Ann wanted to look for magazines featuring Orlando. So it was nearly 4 when we ate!
I've learnt its best never to talk about teachers being in malls while we're actually out in malls. It brings bad luck.
We were sitting right by the glass wall in NYDC and I saw this woman who had square glasses and I commented that she looked like a teacher from school. And so Anjali and I started discussing her uncanny resemblance to Clara Lim-Tan and then suddenly Ann goes "SHIRLENE KOH!!"
So for the next 5 minutes we freaked out because according to Ann our History teacher went into the toilet and spied us just as she turned round the corner. And she gave Ann this...Look. And that...Look can't be good.
Things to do when you've been Spotted.
- Nametags definitely go back on.
- Shirts, if out, go back In.
- Socks, if low, must be pulled up so that they at least cover a minimal amount of skin above the anklebone
- Must definitely avoid eye contact and head for the nearest toilet where we can think of best excuse to give for being out in school U.
Only she herself went into the toilet so we couldn't very well go hide there. Anyway we didn't think she'd come storming into NYDC and haul us out. But then Anjali said she could call us to come out. Suddenly [i don't know why] envisaged Ms Chia standing just outside the glass wall staring in, handbag and all, arms folded, one finger beckoning toward us. Mentioned this and they all started shushing me.
Ann: "...I hope they're not having a teacher's lunch here today."
I heard from Amanda that actually happened once. And some unlucky girls bumped straight into the DM.
DM: What are you doing here? Meet me back in school.
*go back to school and see her in the office the same day*
DM: *blank look* Who are you? Why are you here?
Girl: You asked us to see you because we were in the shopping center...?
DM: *straining to think* ..... Oh. Right. Yes. I remember now. Ok give me your names then.
So started concentrating hard on the menu trying not to look at the direction of the toilet. Then someone came over to take our order. I guess we must've missed her while we were placing our orders because we kept watching the toilet after that and she didn't come out. Then I decided we might as well go to the toilet and say Hi to her.
Anjali: No! Are you crazy!
Gwen: Might as well come clean about it. It'll look worse if we pretend to ignore her.
NYDC waiter: *picks up a camera and snaps a picture of us eating*
Us: ......
So we went into the toilet and started searching for her. All the cubicles were occupied so we started washing our hands pretending to do something, and jumping everytime we heard the toilet flush and someone coming out of the cubicle...we must've used up a fair bit of soap before we concluded she'd gone. Went back. But I kept looking toward the toilet after that :|
Strange.
Was planning to subsidize the entire meal with my birthday money but service charge and GST are seriously evil. Ended up using all my birthday money and Ann paid a bit too. But my mum gave me back the full amount today so I'm happy :D
We had to wait for our 83 cents change but Ann and Gwen were already running off because Ann was late.
Ann: Forget the change! Its just 83 cents!
Me and Anjali: But its money! *walk back to NYDC and wait by the counter*
Waitress: *arches eyebrow* Yes?
Me: Eh... *suddenly thinks its quite silly to demand 83 cents*
Anjali: Eh...
Me: *spies Ann and Gwen running away* Eh nothing. Never mind. Eh. Bye. *starts to walk away*
Waitress: *suddenly calls out so everyone can hear* EXCUSE ME ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOUR CHANGE?! *waves 83 cents in her fist*
Me: *quickly runs over to get it while the NYDC waiter tries not to laugh*
I'm never going to show my face in NYDC again.
And I hope they don't pin our photo up there.
Never tell the truth to people who are not worthy of it.
